5) Academic Freedom
Expressions of interest are sought to join a University Free Speech Academic Advisory Group, to be chaired by the Provost, Professor Judith Squires.
The new Group will provide expert advice and guidance, which will inform the University’s approach to issues relating to free speech and academic freedom.
Please email pa-provost@bristol.ac.uk by Tuesday 4 May if you would like to be considered for the Group.
Following a major report on academic freedom, UCU has submitted an allegation to the Joint ILO/UNESCO Committee of Experts regarding the UK government’s non-compliance with the 1997 UNESCO recommendation on the status of higher education teaching staff.
