Kevin Daws, South West Regional Equality Officer asks: ‘How can we work together to make Equalities a part of the DNA of Colleges and Universities, as well as in prisons, and in adult and community education? It is a central and core value of the UCU, and we should ensure that it is not just a tick box exercise.’ The conference will provide an opportunity for members to share experiences and best practice. 2. UCU Equality Groups Conference 2024. Aston Hotel, Birmingham, and hybrid on Zoom. 28th November – 30th November 2024
UCU’s annual equality conference combines a joint equality conference for black, disabled, LGBT+, migrant and women members as well as dedicated sessions for the five constituencies, joint sessions, various workshops and guest speakers. Participants to the Black, Disabled, LGBT+, Migrant and Women’s conferences are self-nominating and delegates must self-identify with the relevant equality group. You can only attend the conference if you self-identify with the relevant equality group.
Deadline for delegates to register: Monday 28th October 2024.
